Well, my eyes are now open to the amount of work involved in writing a children's book and it is not as simple as having an idea, writing it down, getting a few pictures or illustrations and then popping it out there. There is a need for some serious editing and revision and then finding an illustrator that will do/create what you feel will work with your story. You have to work back and forth to develop the character(s) and then get the illustrations the way you feel best works with the story.
After all this, you have to consider formatting so it is ready to publish in a print format and an ebook format. Again, you have to find someone that will see your project and then be able to make it look good and work in the different applications. Once this is completed then you have to publish it and that takes making decisions on the size of the book, the covers, the documents that need to be uploaded. Then the waiting as they put it all through the verification process. Another 48 hours and then you can possibly set prices and then press the all important button..... publish.
There are forms to fill out for income tax as well as establishing your own business name and license. Anyway, it is more difficult with the first one and so it should be a breeeeeeze with the second book and then the next, and next... etc.
